First thing I ask when I'm inside and hear a duck quack loudly from outside - ABBY? Where are you? (abby is the new great dane here)
I did this and she was inside, so I got up and went out to investigate why there was one really loud quack. Saw nothing amiss. 3 ducks standing around a shrub. I looked for a snake to see if maybe they saw one and it scared the quack out of somebody, but saw nothing.
Went out about 10 mins later with veggies and here comes Cadbury running along with a limp. Let her eat and then scooped her up and called DH to come out and help check her over while she was peeing on me (little poop! I'm trying to help, not kill her, stop peeing and pooping on me!). All we could find was a break in the skin on her ankle, but it didn't go all the way through, no blood, just a chunk of skin missing.
Let me tell you, she can still outrun the others even hobbling!
I put her in the pool to swim a bit when I was done being peed on and checking her over.
Don't know if there was something under the shrub that got her or if she hit a stick under there or what. Dogs were all inside when she screamed.
