OK help I have a big dilemma here I recently was given a duck actually she was rescued her flock at the other farm turned on her and beat her up she lost a lot of feathers but no abrasions she was good I brought her home to live with my chickens and my turkey a week later something attacked her at night she had a really bad wound on the back of her neck I sprayed her with first aid spray and use blue kote and everything is great she's healed completely and feathers or even grown back yet still a little blue but she's fine during the time she was healing I brought her inside my house to rest now that she's healed up she won't go back outside I think she's very afraid of the dark. She raises hell when the sun goes down and if she's in a dark room she has to be underneath my TV or were a light is on and she's quiet and happy now she's decided she wants to be 5 feet from us in a cage and wants to live inside dilemma is it's a duck and I love her very much I tried putting her out with my chickens for one night so she have other company but she just won't raised hell she was sleeping with the turkey and a little misfit rooster that I have I tried putting her in with them in a completely new coop completely safe raised hell I'm to the point where every night about 730 there's a duck outside of my door she quacks her head off until I open the door when I open the door she hops in the door and go straight to her cage and is just settled for the night in the morning she quacks opens her cage door and gets out and meets me at the door and I let her out and she hops out and she spends the day with the with the chickens in the turkey and everything's fine I know she's a duck but it's adorable when she stands there and quacks at the door and hops in it's just like a dog but she refuses to live outside at night what do I do with the maid help because I don't really think so I think she will still meet me at the door I hope somebody out there has some suggestions thank you

My goodness, that poor duck. I don't think that there is anything wrong with her sleeping inside, maybe one night she'll decide that she wants to sleep outside and will go in the coop. If you want to, you can just lock her in the coop and she will grow used to it, or you can try to slowly get her used to it. Maybe put a light in the coop?
