Thats why when I go out to close in the chickens at night, I wave my flashlight up and down in front of me. I came about an inch away from face planting an orb weaver web with her right in the middle of it. The light reflected on it just in the nick of time. I would have freaked...

1950s formica seems to be pretty invincible too, unlike more recent surface materials. The tables in this cafe

with the black and white coffee bean in checkerboard pattern formica tops are exactly the same now as they were when I went there as a child in the 1960s, and really, they don't look a day older! (I was there 2 weeks ago.)

I heard (I don't know if it's true or not) that formica company went bust because no-one ever needed to buy their products twice. Does the modern economy depend on a short life-expectancy for its junk? :th
