I feel the same...keep telling myself that nothing will happen....not sure why, I am a VERY optimistic person. Guess just because this is so new and it seems impossible...although I see a ton of them hatching on here. WE MUST REMAIN OPTIMISTIC...IT WILL WORK, IT WILL WORK!!!!
Color me stupid this morning. Temp and humidity ran perfect yesterday. Had planned to add water before I went to sleep............fell asleep first and humidity was 55 this morning.
Got it back to 61 right now and slowly climbing.......Still no chirps or moving eggs........start of day 20.
This is very hard work
Finally took myself to the barn....cleaning pens, having a good conversation with the chickens.
Now washing everthing I can haul into the kitchen sink......................
I am here to tell you....66 is not the new 46.to pooped to pop.BUt loving every minute of it .
I think my eggs have had a private conversation that goes something like this....
"LETS SEE HOW FAR WE CAN PUSH THIS OLD GAL"......still, not a peep, no rock and roll...............
It has been a long 20 so far days
Just checked again and one egg has the tiniest hole...........................
must be a pip ?No sleep tonight for sure.
It is from a barred rock..one of my favorites.
Still no pips...but I have some wigglers and chirping...on day 23 is there still hope? I really was shocked to hear chirping! I thought people were making it up.
Can you hear chirping before they pip and pop outta there?
I have one rocking and rolling and the other 20 are just hanging out and driving me
.
This is our first hatch and we were starting with one dozen but then a friend gave us a second to work with and then a third. The third batch is in its own bator while batch one and two are in lockdown. Batch two is a day behind batch one so I don't think it will do me any harm to have them in together.
