Hi all,

took some close up of our 4 girls heads to try and get an approximatte age and when they are likely to lay.

This is Sam (My Favourite)

This is Ang, were hoping that her comb is ok as it has hardly developed at all. She was like this when we got her. Is she ok?

Were just curious to how old they are and if any of them look likely to lay any time soon lol

Thanks guys

Comparing them to my chickens they probably look around 13 weeks old. If they are they could start laying anytime after 7 weeks.

I believe they mean seven weeks from today..LOL! I first thought they were suggesting they would lay at 7 weeks of age. We'd love to have chicks lay at 7 weeks!!

I think you have several weeks to go yet (7+ is a good guess). They combs will get redder, and the girls will start to do the "squat" for you when you approach them. I found my girls would lay within a week or two from the first squat. Good luck:)

i don't have your particular type of chicken. However yours are beautiful! So I can't comment on how old they are or when they will lay.
However my Buff Orpingtons' combs came in similiarly to yours. the ones that had their combs come in later, started laying later. I think she's fine and when she gets ready to lay, I think he comb and wattles will come in and be more red.

hope that helps.

gorgeous ladies!

Asyoung as that?

When we brought them at a farmers market auction they were sold as POL. Im guessing they were a bit OTT on that then lol

Weve had them 4 weeks already so they were well off :|
