Due in 3 day!

My duck is sitting on 5 chicken eggs and she's due in 3-5 days! I'm hoping they all hatch! She's been a good broody. There were 8 eggs but our family dog was egg snatching =( The chicks are mutt chickens lol My Roo is RIR/Old English/Something else and my hens breeds are 3 Australorp,1 RIR, 1 Red Sex link,1 Barred Rock, and 1 Barred Rock mix . So we'll see what we get! I'll be keeping the pullets and maybe 1 cockeral depending on the hatch.

Woot! It'll be a good destraction when they hatch as I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow D= Wish I still had all 8 eggs though. Oh well maybe next time =)

We're down to 3 eggs =( She kicked two out of the nest yesterday. My guess is they died. They were ice cold when I found them. So I'm REALLY hoping these guys hatch! and maybe she'll go broody again this summer =)

My hatch has started (this broody always seems to hatch on day 20) I have 2 chicks out so far.....pictures soon

She threw the last egg out last night =( No chickies for me. When I went to check the eggs under her I found an animal hole near her nest. Dug from the outside into her area. I moved her into the barn in a more secure area and now it's time to try again. I think what ever the animal is it was stressing her out and sending her off the nest for too long cause the eggs to die and her toss them out.
