Okay, so none of my button quail hatched, the eggs we cracked were just plain yoke!! UGH and now our bobwhites are due today and none of them have even pipped....What have I done wrong!!! I so completely give up!!!!!

If they are due today, certainly don't give up just yet! Depending on the temps in your bator or not, they could still take another 48 hours!

Has your bator run lower than the recommended temp?

no it's been 99.5 and it hasn't really moved expect maybe the few seconds it was off to add more water or whatever and even then it never really budged. I know there is a chance tomorrow and after candling them the last time out of the 56 eggs we only have 28 that are all dark expect for the air pocket. We did accidently crack one that we thought was dead but found out that it was just a slow one

It was rather sad, so knowing that and having the dark eggs I thought for sure we would have something hatch. This is my first time and I'm so excited to hatch eggs and am really sad if nothing hatches. Will the pipped spot be super noticable? or not really?

Thanks!!!

You should just add enough water for the humidity to
Be high for the hatch. Try not to open it cause it will lose humidity. I've hatched coturnix like 3 times my first time I was like you, and my coturnix were slow they hatched at 18th day in the afternoon. And I didn't gave up just yet. Just wait a little longer they'll hatch they're just a bit slow. Hope it works out for you.

Yeah we have been. I'm a newbie at this so I guess they could just be slow (like myself at this learning)

don't beat your self up! I would wait and wait and wait ,if you candled them and they are dark leave them be . They will hatch when ready. As long as you have everything set leave it be. you could get your brooder setup. I bet they will hatch when your are alseep.

I have learned to candle at 10+ days. I at least get rid of the clears. Keeps the incubator cleaner that way.

I have had a bit of highs and lows with this batch of bob whites and I candled today and had a lot of movement.

I have also had terrible luck with shipped eggs. It seems to be how they were packed rather then how far they came.

Send good luck thoughts your way!

I just hatched bobwhite eggs and they took 25 days. Don't give up and don't crack anymore. My temps were the best through the whole process and it still took longer. I got 38 chicks out of 40. Humidity was too. I havw also had early hatches. I never give up until day 8 after they were suppose to hatch.
