I;m starting to wonder if the box was xrayed, I had a hard time candling them, but the hen eggs in there were developing, and should be hatching soon. I'm sure the eggs were good when they shipped, I'm just trying to figure out if it's the shipping or the heat.

I dunno. NancyDz got eggs from me that took SEVERALLLL days to get to her (it was annoying UPS is stupid lol i sent yours usps to avoid this trauma again lol) and she sitll had a decent hatch

I've sent to CA many times and yours is actually teh first to not have good results sadly. It could very well be your low incubator temp but id' think some should still of hatched that low temp is a lil chilly

ETA: just FYI i knew you weren't saying anything bad about my eggums

My fertility on my birds has been tested and true so I'm deeffinatly not concerned about that. I am bummed however that you're not seeing any

I don't have more to offer this year or I'd offer to send again for shipping but I don't have any. I moved out my entire golden breeding pen except the roo "Hawn" and a few young jumbo brown hens that aren't laying yet. All I really have now is Tuxedos and a few other colors I really like. I'm getting 4-5 eggs a day lol!!! So sowwie I can't send again or i deffinatly would have.

Results,

Cracked 10/43 All of the quail eggs look like scrambled eggs, there's just a soup of yolk/whites, no smell no color, just scrambled.

4 of the hen eggs look to be fully developed and are still warm so...

I'm bummed beyond belief.

Sounds like something must ahve happened early on. maybe post office handling? Did you let them sit a bit before starting the incubation. If the don't sit the yolk will not be able to bounce back and the strands can break from the yolk. Hmmm..... maybe too low temp to start with. I'm so sorry! What a bummer!

that sucks completely. Sounds like someone did a shake and bake job in shiping them to you. See that's why i like UPS because as long as the UPS guys dont THROW them (like has happened) i hear better results from them than i do from the USPS eggs i send out. never anytihng that bad though

were eggs damaged upon arrival at all???

ETA: but UPS takes like 5 very days to get to CA'ians annoying!

If i remember rightly she let them sit for like 6 hours

Cuz i remember talking about it with her
smile.png
she was talking about holding off on incubating them and I mentioned that it was best to put them in 6-8 hours after you let them sit

I'm thinking post office too, the bator is working, holding a 98.8 > 100.8 humidity 47-59 the whole time (my son's been tracking it daily). The 5 hen eggs (our hens) have had 1 quit and 4 develop so... Something happened in transit, they arrived beautifully packed, with no damage to the eggs or box.

Gave then from lunch to about 11 pm to set them
