Due tomorrow - Can they count? Day 23 Pips? Hatch!

Contestant #1 is a dark quail, I'm calling him Bob. Bob was 1/2 out of his shell when I went to check on humidity, he looks healthy and normal, and is currently drying off in the bator basket.

Seems, like my first husband, they're just a little slow.

3 so far all are darker babies, once they get dried off I'll snap pics and we can play guess that color!

Congratulations on the new fluffies !!!!

My last hatch had a 117 temp spike on day 18 and all the ones who'd pipped but not hatched died (8 or so), so I dialed the temp down to 97-98 instead of 100, trying to avoid a repeat... Seems these simmered instead of cooked, the eggs I'd checked/tossed yesterday had zero development, and the yolks were busted (packing was perfect, PO was not)... So I'm pretty happy to get anything.

Yeah, most interesting I've caught Mr "I just wanna eat one, woman" talking to the brooder in baby voices.

Look for egg shipping is not the packing! Ok well I live in vegas and I ordered about 30 a&m eggs, and heres the thing I put them in the incubator and I checked embryo development and nothing, zero, nada. Ok so I told the guy who sent the eggs and what happened and he gladly sent me another batch of eggs and extremely good packaging when I got em and what I did was that candled the (the ones I could) and air space broken on all.... Ok I started to open them like if I were to eat them and darn! They had already started development and had veins and all that other ones had pure white stuff. But my opinion is that when eggs are shipped to a hot place during its trip they wil eventualy start developing cause of the temp while shipping I'd say....
