Dumb chickens?

Leaves me to ponder whether the chickens were stupid to wander off and get eaten or if the chicken keeper was stupid for letting them.

This was an attempt to inject irony and humor into the discussion. Not intended to be taken literally.

Tho like most satire there is a heavy dose of hard truth there....
...hard truths usually offend those in denial.

While I'm sure most people here really do care about their chickens and do their best to take care of them (I sure do), it's just not feasible for most people to watch them constantly or 100% predator-proof their yard. My chickens are spoiled rotten, but I still acknowledge that the ones that can't keep themselves safe in the safest of conditions, create a nuisance for the neighbors, break the other hen's eggs constantly, or constantly cause themselves to be under duress really can't be helped. Sometimes predation can't be stopped, and sometimes relocation or even culling might be necessary. They're chickens after all, not people.

Sadly there will always be people looking to pounce on other peoples life tragedy's to uplift there own pathetic little life.
