I have to wonder how important it is to feed my dog a good quality dog food when she eats plastic spoons, the kids toys, her bed, the occasional shoe, whatever crumbs the kids drop, and tries to eat from the cat litter box:sick
Just makes you wonder...

Yea I agree with you!! It's kinda like making a big deal about a chickens waterer being spick & span clean when they just as soon drink out of a muddy nasty water puddle than drink all that nice clean water!!!

If you feed a good organic dog food, it will balance out all the plastic so it would be like conventional dog food ... I guess?

BTW, the dog I had when growing up used to eat cotton balls. Mom was always afraid he'd get gastric torsion or stopped up. He never did.

I had one once that we had to hide all our candles from. Couldn't leave any on end tables or anything or he would eat them. Didn't matter what scent they were. We quit having candles for a while because I was worried that they would harm him.

Mine likes to eat underwear

Yes, I know. Ew XD

Um, yeah, she eats underwear too.. no candles, but she eats the kids crayons... the bright flecks of color in the poo is nasty:sick

We were feeding her beneful, which apparently is one of the worst dog foods. she used to throw up all the time.
We switched her to blue seal lamb and rice and she is doing much better, but she still eats all the other random stuff.

I heard eating poop in animals was a behavior and if one dog sees another doing it they will to. I don't think it is good idea to allow it not that you do....my new saint bernard likes eating chicken poop. I keep stopping her but for some reason they like to.

I though I heard one time that there is something in it they are lacking nutritionally?

I don't know what kind of a dog you have but it is very necessarily to have a good quality food just like it is for us to be healthy we need to eat healthy also for them to grow properly especially as puppies. Large breed dogs take 2 years for maximum bone development. They grow so fast it is like their bones are hollow and then get more solid after hence the 2 years and I am sure other parts of the body also.

I am sure chewing and eating everything is just puppy/dog board-em/behavior.

Good luck!

She's 1 1/2
She's an Aussie shep/terrier mix.
We have the cat box barricaded with a baby gate across the door of the 1/2 bath that we don't use.. the cat jumps over it.
