Dumb egg question?

My little hen of mystery breed gifted me with an egg this morning. I plan on trying to hatch it but have to wait on more eggs due in the next week. I've got it in the pantry, small end down in an egg carton.
Now the dumb question part..... I can keep it at room temp this way right? I think this is what I remember and have read but the brain is trying to give me a migraine today and isn't working like I want it.....

yes, be sure to turn them daily...what I do is this...I place my eggs in a carton....I then lean one side of the carton on something so I have one side higher than the other....every few hrs when I walk by, I gently and slowly turn the ends...placing the low end up on what I had it leaning on.

your doing what an incubator would do, turning the eggs...

Thanks.... like I said, can't think straight today. It even took me a few minutes to digest the fact that there was an egg in one of the 'buckets' this morning. I hate it when the migraines hit....
