Dumb question eggs

OK, The dumb question is.. What happens to a fertilized egg if it has a double yolk?
We want to hatch our eggs in the spring and we keep getting double yolk eggs. I was thinking that one embryo would just use up the other yolk, or the egg would never grow into an embryo at all

Someone on here hatched out her double yolker and got twins. Both chicks are doing well.

They have a very poor hatch rate. But it can be done.

if everything is PERFECT you could get twins...
but mostly dont hatch

So when you candle you can see two yolks and decide then to hatch other eggs?

Most twins don't hatch. There is not enough room in the shell to accommodate both growing chicks.
