I have not asked this question for fear of it being a really dumb question - but we are still learning...

We bought 3 babies the last week of November. They are now 11 weeks old and have moved from the playpen in my grow room to their new coop outside with the big birds.

Is it normal for them to shed a lot of feathers???

I have noticed (especially since they were moved outside) that there are LOTS of tiny baby feathers in the coop and where the rest during the day. The seem very happy and healthy otherwise.

Thanks All

There is no such thing as a dumb question on BYC, believe me, I've tried :D My flock went through something similar, and I researched to find that there is such a thing as a juvenile molt. Mine littered the yard with feathers for about one month, and then they had fabulous and beautiful feathers grow in. It sounds like this is the case, if everything else is going well. You should be just fine!
