dumb silkie question

I really feel like a newbie now. This chick hatched this morning & my DH put it in the brooder while I was at work. Do white silkies look yellow when they hatch? They're supposed to be white.

I have one that looks exactly like that, it hatched last night.

Some of the white ones are yellow when they hatch and others are silvery...has to do w/ which white gene they have.

Which white gene hatches yellow? I was afraid it was buff.

Our 4 silkie chicks were various shades of yellow-- not one was a real "white"...
