Ok I am gonna ask a dumb question. How do I make sure that my new geese are friendly? They don't like it when I mess with them?

You have the youngin's?
I suppose if they are young you should try and handle them, get them to eat from you, but make it all a happy good experience and not scary at all and they should turn towards liking you. Bring them food instead of having it readily available a couple of times a day so that they are happy when they see you, give grass clippings, parsley/cilantro, dandelion leaves, ect treats. When you go to handle them or approach the box or whatever they are kept in, talk to them so that they aren't startled by you and make handling them a daily routine so that when they are older they wont object to being held whenever you feel you want to.

Thats all I've got. This is my first year with goslings from my big goosies so it'll be a learning experience for me too.

Hope that helps,

Yes I have three babies they four weeks old. I got them from my local feed store . I put them in my back yard so I could see them often and spend more time with them but because of work and being busy with other things I havn't got to spend alot of time with them. They have to go into a crate every nite so when it starts getting dark I go and put them up, I really only have to put them in front of the crate and they walk in on their own I have had them since saturday evening and they already know when I pick them up and put them in front of it to walk in. I decided to go ahead and get them after a few posts on here. I want to see what it's like to raise them and how they turn out ie... know if I want more, learn from the first few what to do and not to do. I have posted this pic before and most ppl have said they look like embden and that's really what I was wanting so what do you think?

when I said mess with them I meant handle them try to sqeeze on them love their little butts ( which by the way their poop is soo strong it's almost gross smelling) and I have to pick them up at night to put them in their crate. They really just don't like it tho so that's why I was wanting to know what other ppl do to make their geese friendly. Oh and what treats do ya give them they have lots of greens in their pin.
