Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat - Part 2 : Chicken Boogaloo.

The Ayam Cemani lays black eggs. Super rare bird and hard to breed because they have to be pitch black.

No, it doesn't. Ayams lay a beautiful white egg. The only black egg I know of comes from Cayuga ducks, which I own. I was the one that brought up black eggs originally. I actually have issues selling them, because they are greenish black or greenish grey and most people think they are dirty duck eggs.

I had to look it up. Coffee doesn't even help my fuzz brain.

3 people now. I got it. Jeez remember to drink coffee before trying to remember an obscure chicken breed that is know for just how completely black it is.

Lol I only know it because we have so many of them being bred in our area. Seems like just about everyone "into chickens" has at least a few, now. I think all 3 of us posted at about the same time lol

Lol before 4h the only things i knew about chickens was food goes in one end and eggs come out the other. Now I have preformed bumble surgery ( hen completely recovered but sooo gross), chicken pt on a young pullet who sprained her leg ( mostly recovered just limping now), and know way too much about parasites.

The bird has to be pitch black, or they only mate in the pitch black?? I like a little mood lighting, myself.
:gig The bird itself is bred to be pitch black... black feathers, skin, meat, bones and organs... a lot come out with white toe tips, mouths and tongues though... the fibromelanism is hard to breed for full saturation...
