Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat - Part 2 : Chicken Boogaloo.

Becky had a new feed video come up on you tube suggested to me. DE= de-wormer to her and grit is the same as oyster shell also and you need oyster shell to help the chickens muscles to shoot the eggs out to keep them from being egg bound (apparently it's not to help the chickens form shells who knew but Becky?). Also it's good food that causes chickens to lay year round, not light!
:barnie Oh dear!! And people believe her, which is the sad thing.

We were on Amazon video looking for options to watch -we had been watching “Rare Breeds” a show about farmers in Ireland (nice scenery and accents). Well, Amazon offers suggestions, and they had “Backyard Chickens 101” as an option, so tween and I clicked on it. But, we quickly exited since it was over an hour worth of BECKY!!!!! :barnie

She has to just make it up, right? And somehow people believe her? I wish I could just make up whatever “facts” I wanted and get paid to mislead people! Actually, no, I DON’T want that because I have a conscience lol I wonder if she just genuinely doesn’t know?? Or if she is purposely conning people? It is just hard to believe someone could actually be THAT stupid. Also, I feel really bad for all of her animals.... I wonder what other misinfo she has for her other animals :(

Ol Becky didnt like my reply to her latest video. She says DE does too kill worms in chickens and oyster shell can be used as grit. Umm, ok.

Maybe she thinks cause it looks like a rock/hard is hard outside the chicken, it functions as grit? Except she doesn’t realize it’s actually soft and breaks down inside the bird and is useless as grit lol but at least she is not saying that grit can be used as oyster shells like I initially thought cause that would be really bad hah and doesn’t DE not work when wet? So how would it work to kill anything inside a chicken? I thought it worked by drying stuff out? Although that said, unfortunately that one I think is pretty common. I see lots of people, even here, say to sprinkle some DE on their food, etc. to prevent diseases or somehow make them healthier or deworm them or whatever. But I think her birds free range, right? So they probably find plenty of grit free ranging. Otherwise, I would think she might end up with some dead birds by now ha

This isn’t really something dumb that someone else said, but I thought it was funny.

One time I was walking outside with my flock while they were free ranging. For no apparent reason they all flew away like crazy into the woods, squawking and everything. Before thinking I yelled at them “What are you guys chicken?” No more than five seconds had passed before I realized what I had said. I just started laughing. Lol
