Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I give mine away for free but I would like to say you could ask more per dozen. your eggs are higher quality than the store bought eggs. Quality over quantity is how I live.

I sell mine for $4.00 per dozen to people who appreciate organic, "authentic", free ranged eggs. These are folks who grow their own veggies organically and are interested in the quality and healthfulness of their food, not in finding what's cheapest. You need to find a different market. Offer it and they will come.

Exactly I'm one of those people. I appreciate home grown unmodified naturally made things. Eapecialy when it come to animals and animal products. I just give mine away to friends and family.

I have those I give them away to as well, and it was never my intention to make money from this endeavor; I just tired of trying to find a consistent source of high quality eggs. So, here I am. Any money I make is pure serendipity. The folks who buy them hate the thought of grocery store eggs. Bleech! It.makes me happy to be able to satisfy their need.

We give away all our extras. Some of our neighbors can't believe we won't take money for ours but we keep chickens for ourselves and are happy to share any extras that we get. It works out though. We got some banana bread from the one neighbor lol. Ours are organic and free range :)

I must live in the wrong area. Most of the people I tell about our eggs say no thanks! I stopped giving them away when I found out the person threw them in the garbage after taking them.

My chickens love scrambled eggs and the ravens love them too.

When the weather warms up, take some to a farmers' market, or other such market place. People who shop places like Whole Foods would kill for your eggs.

One of my feed stores buys eggs. I just took them 8 dozen. They have folks coming from miles away to buy them. Last summer, I sold all that my girls produced from a cooler at the end of my driveway. I live on a dead end road, so my sign has been down for the season, but expect that when snow season is over, and the sign goes up at the front end of my road, I'll be back in business for my neighbors.

I have done FF. Problem now is temps have been down in 20s and 30s. So I have to wait for temps to be better. I initially thought I was saving money on it, but the chickens also seemed to eat more. Like they were hungrier.

I do my ferment in the house, and they do ok eating it at those temps. If we get an other arctic blast where the temps don't even get up to 20* at mid day, I'll have to resort to pellets for a while.
