Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I saw it on one of the thread the comment that only about half the people have average or better intelligence....

The infamous "Bell Curve", below. The number in the middle, 100 (the mean) is dead average IQ. This is where most of the people score, as indicated by the height of the aqua curve. Therefore, half of the population is at 100 or above, and half at 100 or below. Rather simplistic, because the Average *range* is between 85 and 115, which is where 68% of the population falls. Those with IQs between 115 and 130, comprise only 13.59% of the population. These are the "smarter than average" folks. Those above 130 are gifted, and only comprise a little more than 2% of the population. The same is true for the bottom half of the curve, but in reverse: 13.59% of the population score between 85 and 70, which is "slow". Scores of 70 and below, 2.27% of the population, are intellectually impaired.

How do you measure idiot savants, or people like, "Rain man"? On one hand they are very smart, but they don't realize that they are being smart, they are just noticing things that it takes the rest of us time to figure out. Such as counting a large number of object in a fraction of a second. On the other hand they can't tie their shoes, or deal with social issues.

what is so sad is I work with a person whom is mentally disabled (very obvious) but he makes more sense than some of the management we have at our company whom are supposedly at or above average intelligence...... And people wonder how the company I work for went bankrupt and is struggling to make money.

Most likely that's because he's not being devious, or doesn't have some ulterior motive lurking behind his words.

People like Rain Man have what we call "splinter skills". His overall IQ was low, and he had trouble functioning independently. But, when it came to this one skill, he was gifted. Unfortunately, that one skill didn't generalize to other important areas.

I see your point but I mean he has lower reasoning skills than most but some managers I have seen at my company cannot figure out how to set up simple "some assembly required" displays and while this fellow has some problems trying to assemble the displays he can at least point out this goes here that goes there while my bosses cant even figure out how to get it out of the package.....

I think lack of imagination is the problem. People cannot make the mental leap to the next step. A lot of people I meet are pretty dull. The imaginative interesting ones are crazy with no exceptions. Yes, you can count me is the crazy group.

This morning I changed up the routine a bit. Usually get up and dressed, dog and chicken are waiting at the door and out we go to the barn. This morning, I let the dog out first, then brought her back in and fed her and the chicken. Got dressed and went out to the barn. Chicken would not leave the porch until I got the old dog back out and off the porch... then she followed. Dog came back inside, Ida was right behind her. This chicken was so near dead when she got here. She really makes me wonder! She is not like any other chickens I have dealt with. She will stand beside me and rake her beak over my jeans to get my attention and then sit on my lap and intently watch what I'm doing with this keyboard. Guess maybe she is learning to post on Backyard Chickens???

foks, that thing that wears funny stuff on it's feet just left. She is nutz! happy grubbing. ida
