Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

My Dad believes that fertile eggs taste better. (Well, all fresh yard eggs actually taste the same wether a rooster is around or not.)

Now I do have a friend that won't eat her chicken's eggs simply because of the strange eating habit they have developed. Her chickens clean up after her goat. The goat poops and the chickens eat the poop.

Her chickens will even peck the poor goats butt to get more poop.

So she gives her eggs away to others.

Just think of all the money she's saving on chicken feed!!!

Actually, that's been done, and it didn't work. It's called the Great Flood. Here we are, in the same scenario. I would call it "liberalism"... low-information voters, whatever you want to call it... and it's a terminal-disease. So, no fixing it.

my brother: you have a rooster in with the hens!!!! you cant eat the eggs then... no i dont want to take any thats so gross... he has his daughters convinced as well.. but low and behold they still eat all the things i make with the eggs, even the fried eggs them selves

and then theres the grocery store "egg racist" lmao if you didnt know browner the egg the better it tastes

Ask your brother why, if fertile eggs are inedible, you can buy them at the market. Not all grocery stores, but some. And if he thinks there is semen floating around in the fertilized eggs, he needs to enroll in sex education 101. Evidently he slept through it in school if he ever took it at all.

I don't mind it when people acknowledge they are uninformed or misinformed; but, don't argue that you're right and the rest of the world is wrong. Especially when they KNOW it's something they just assumed to be true, otherwise known as "conventional wisdom". E.g., when my builder argued with me when I wanted to put an antique bathtub in my bathroom because, "It's a big waste of money. You'll never use it. Nobody takes a bath anymore".

My reply, "Well, meet 'Nobody'. And, put the tub *there*".

I got my new chicks the other day and was telling a family friend I was so excited b/c I was going to have white, green & brown egg layers. Her response: Why would you get white eggs if brown are the healthy ones? I explained it was genetics and healthy eggs come from healthy chickens.

It just occurred to me perhaps for some reason it's just the thought of it being fertilized that freaks someone out, not anything else, I know for a while for some reason eating canned tuna not used in tuna helper or a tuna casserole for a while just freaked me out, I could not eat a tuna and mayo sandwich or tuna salad for something like 3-5 years. I don't know why (perhaps I got ill after eating it once and sub consciously blamed that? I'll never know) perhaps they had a touch of a stomach bug and blamed that or as I said they have a phobia... I purchased some custom made hotdogs from a meat locker near me a few years back, I cooked them properly and ate them with some family, a couple liked them and one didn't like the seasoning in them but otherwise thought they where alright, but as I had been shopping and running errands that day and the others hadden't left the house that weekend I got sick. I know it had to be I ran into a bug but to this day I cannot even think of buying or eating those hotdogs because it makes me quite ill thinking of them and I know for certain it was a bug I caught. I purchased some other processed meat and regular meat there and used it a few days later and it never made me ill so I know it was a bug. But still I can't eat or think of those hotdogs. well on the bright side I'm not hungry now. lol
