Here we call it loafing.
In some places they call it bumming around. Basically just goofing off, taking it easy, not doing much of anything.
Just chillin' and marinatin'......

That was from one day in the court room when a Snoop Dog type was occupying the front row, lawyerless and so probably a spectator...that or had relatives in process. We got done with all of our arraignments and whatnot and the judge then asked him if he had any business that day with the court. "Nope. Just chillin' and marinatin', Your Honor." The clerk and I were hard to maintain our composure and, needless to say, we never forgot the saying....
Of course, how one marinates is one's own business...

As well as in what they choose to marinate. Personally, I prefer a hot bubble bath! Do all my best thinkin' in there and come up with some of my best ideas, depending on whom you ask, of course. You'd be surprised what I can come up with after 2 hours marinating in hot, sudsy water.

The very idea of putting myself in hot water right now is distressing. Of course, we're in the middle of our hot season right now...
A dip in a cool pool of water would be inspiring right now, though!
