Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Once when I was not feeling very nice, someone said "I hope you at least kill the chickens where are their friends can't see it happen". I assured them I did, otherwise it was a pain in the butt trying to do it without the others milling around trying to steal the head and innards as snacks.

Apparently most people do not know that chickens are descendant from dinos! Lol!

I told a citiot friend that I was going to get rid of 4 of my chickens.

Her: What are you doing to do with them?
Me: They're going to freezer camp.
Her: What's that?
Me: I'm putting them in the freezer.
Her: OMG!!! That's so cruel!
Me: Huh? What's cruel about it?
Her: Wouldn't it be kinder if you killed them first?

Many of the Yankees who moved to the retirement communities in the Sunny South have thought better of it after a few years. They then move "half-way" back, settling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We call them "half-backs". The ones from Florida, however, are called Floridiots because they're *really special* and seem to be the worst of the lot. Citiots was just a natural derivative of that term, and really fits the invaders from Atlanta perfectly: yuppies, trendys, and artificial people who come to the mountains for their Miata or Corvette or Beemer road rallies. Lets not forget the Harleys; by the hundreds, clogging the roads and causing the only traffic problems we ever have. Talk about "dumb" questions and statements!! <oy!> One Yankee citiot transplant from NJ told me she ".. doesn't trust anything natural".

We talked about moving to the Blue Ridge Mountains when my hubby got out of the Navy. He's from WV and has a lot of family there. It was the job issues that made us come over this way near my family. We're probably doing much better than we would have been. It's a very beautiful place out there. I've driven through it many times over the years.

Yeah, the economy has hit us hard. Thankfully, property taxes are low, and so is the cost of living. That's why many of the retirees are attracted to this place. But, those looking for work move on.
