Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

oh geez, now I have to think about all those questions.....ok, I'm done, here is my answer. You can never have too many pets!!! Chickens, cows, turtles, rats, pill bugs, fish and any other kind of animal you happen have are all pets, as long as you take care of them and love them. Ok, maybe not pill bugs.
And now I'm starting to sound like a preacher or something. Gah! Philosophy makes my brain hurt.

Actually, my questions were aimed at the offending person who said you had too many pets. Personally, I'm on your side. Can't have too many pets: too many nosy, judgmental friends/neighbors/family members, yes, but not too many pets.

I know, people are stupid. Chickens are the smart ones. And animals are much less annoying then people, because they can't talk.

I think the problem with mankind is that too many of us think we're qualified to set standards of behavior for the rest. Most arguments would be eliminated if everyone focused on their own behavior and stopped trying to regulate everyone else. Also, the word "should" needs to be removed from the language.

At a Christmas party today:

"Ah (she's a real southern belle, and then turns it on for effect) know farm eggs are supposed to be bettah tasting, but Ah just like way the taste of the ones from the grocery store much bettah."

I replied, "Well, everyone has their own preferences", walking away and muttering to self that the gene pool will be much better off by her removal.

lol

I told someone that my hens layed even though I did not have a rooster...... they thought my chickens just layed egg whites.....
another one is when I told a friend of mine I was going to sell eggs, she thought I needed to price them LOWER than the store price becasue they were from my backyard and not STORE QUALITY.... haha got a real laugh about that one. When people find out one of my chickens lays bluish/green eggs (I do have an ameraucana) they look at me like Ive just told them that a banana kidnapped their children, and they ask me if they're edible....

"That's not a chicken!"
"Yes it is, that's a silkie."
"That's not a chicken, it's obviously some sort of dog, or sheep!"

What???? Haha...

OH! And also:
"Do you ever feel bad when you eat the yolks? You're killing baby chickens."
That one was odd.

In my egg layer flock that i had at the fair for a exhibit, i had a EE hen, hatchery RIR, Brown leghorn and a light brahma.
The EE hen a had a tail like a rooster and when some people came by and saw her lay an egg, they thought roosters layed eggs! It was sort of funny and i kind of understood the confusion.
