I love the mac & cheese from a box! My family teases me. I've been to culinary school. I've worked in restaurants with 3 stars. But I just love that fake stuff! I'll eat the real stuff too, but y heart isn't in it.

LOL! My husband, the super "real" food person loves the boxed stuff too. It's filler but I don't really like it - if he wants it, he has to buy it.

I was telling him about this thread. He loved the one about the green eggs being moldy!

I hate boxed Mac & cheese. Everyone else in my family loves it though. I'm in to growing my own food and trying to eat as healthy as possible. I'm a teenager, and I seem to be the only one in the family who really cares about it. You'd think it would be the parents who were big on that sort of thing. Guess it switched around In our house. :rolleyes:Everyone else just eats whatever. That boxed macaroni would probably not taste the worst, but I can't stand the fact that you dump orange powder onto the noodles and then mix it and it's supposed to be "cheese". It doesn't taste like cheese at all to me. I did recently get my mom to start making homemade Mac though. Taste waaaayyyy better.

When I was growing up, my mom used to fix that boxed stuff. Mac and cheese, fish sticks, all that kind of quick easy "food". I can't eat any of it these days, it just tastes so much better to me to make meals from scratch. I understand the convenience and ease of it, but I can just not see it as food for the body.

I love boxed Mac and cheese. But then again I've only recently decided to try to be more self sufficient and start making food from scratch. I always grow my own veggies at least and I recently learned how to make my own Mozzarella. :YUM: Never had homemade mac and cheese though...

Funny little convo my friend and I had the other day when I showed her the egg my house banty laid.

Me: Isn't it cute? I use three to make an awesome egg sandwich

Her: ...Umm Its the size of her head.

M: I think its a little larger actually

H: ....

M: What?

H: She squeezes out the equivalent of her head multiple times a week?

M: 3 or 4 times usually

H: I will never complain about my monthly again.

To each his own. I have friend who thinks Velveeta is the best cheese made. She can't stand chedder or Monterey Jack or any real cheese.

That's how it is for me, too! I have all the tools to start a garden and I raise the chickens (mostly by myself) and yet it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to help me. Here I am looking for locally grass fed beef and goat's milk while Dad is bringing home chicken nuggets. Jeez.

The only consolation I have is that when I can get them to purchase all the organic/non-GMO ingredients I need for a meal, they love it. I just wish I wouldn't have to work so hard to get the proper ingredients in the first place. It's very frustrating. For a family that has plenty of health problems, you'd think they'd be more interested in bettering themselves.

You might not understand until you pay all the bills.
