Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Gotta get me some of those Marans. The brown eggs from my Wyandottes taste like eggs.

So last week I had to get rid of my extra roosters (5 roosters 14 hens ) 4 was destined for freezer camp I go out to do the deed my dad who has always been a country man asks what are you doing I explain he says oh don't do that. Find them another home I laugh no way I have fed them to this size for meat then he catches me off guard with oh you can't eat them. What you eat chicken don't you.I ask yes he says but you can't eat rooster. I just look at him trying to figure out exactly how he is my dad. Maybe the milkman is instead. Jk

Someone I know works in the medical field got 2 chicks. Asked the same question, and when hers started laying wouldn't eat the eggs 'cause they were period eggs, and just kept buying store eggs. Lost hers to predators last year. And asked me recently if I would have extra eggs she could have for holiday cooking. I reminded her all I get are THOSE kinda eggs…she said she would pretend they were store-bought!

Ok, I'm the dumb one for this. Gosh, never knew chickens had anything but pink or yellowish skin. I would have asked the same initial question…do they taste like regular chicken?
