Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I actually saw a thing about how the highways in Alaska (I think) were designed, they have fences on both sides, with 1 way spring loaded gates to allow moose OFF the road but not on it... kind of surprised that they haven't started doing that everywhere for the deer... And of course they are now trying to re-introduce elk... as if a 150 pound buck wasn't bad enough if you hit it, have a 500-1,000 pound stag....

There are small versions of this in my area around the nature reserves for wombats. They are hit by cars so often I've lived in Australia for 13 years and have never seen one alive. :/ Dozens dead. Not one alive.

I think she meant that, unless there's a sign, people won't expect deer in that particular place. I guess. for the benefit of people like her, they COULD place signs side to side for a 1/2 mile or more - just to be on the safe side, ya know! Or, how about one large sign that's 1/2 mile long?

Can you believe you're out on the road with these people? Scary, huh.

Alaskan here: never seen such a thing.

Edit: nor have I ever heard of it. Pretty sure that they may have proposed the idea, it was never implemented, anywhere.

What's to keep them from trotting down the middle of that secondary road? I suppose they are supposed to read the directions! Looks like a nice waste of tax payer dollars to me.
From the sound of things, they probably do that, but i'm guessing that's a simplified diagram of the design there, mostly to show the concept of the fence. They probably have it extended out a little more on the secondary road, and at the worse, it at least limits moose accidents to around those secondary road areas.

The obvious solution is to have a Wildlife Only lane to the inside of the bike lane...that way everybody can share the road.

My sister in law, whom I USED to live next door hated the thought of me getting chickens...well she hated everything about me.

My neices and nephew thought it was awesome! All of my other neighbors thought it was the coolest thing, and loved the eggs.

Me: "I think it would be cool to have a few chickens."

SIL: "Gross, Chickens are nasty and they stink. If you get chickens I am going to move."

My Husband: "If that is all we have to do to get you to move I should have gotten chickens a while ago."

So then I decided that I HAD to get chickens. Duh!!! When we were building the coop, my nephew asked what we were building. I told him a spaceship! Only because SIL was outside.

After we had chickens for a while, we were building my 3 bin compost container...my nephew asked what we were building. I told him they were goat stalls. He quickly ran inside to tell his mom. My husband and I laughed so hard. We weren't getting goats!

In the end we moved...she was nastier

than my chickens.

I dont think my coop was gross or nasty!
