Holy Cow! And, I thought $6 per dozen was bad. If I ever get any eggs to sell, I'm gonna charge (let's see; $35 per 50lb bag of organic feed; $5000 for the coop, another $100 for the watering trough/brooder, and another $150 or so for the miscellaneous supplies) about $79.95 per dozen. I should break even in about 3 years.
I told my neighbors $2 a dozen, because they are really nice and chick sit for free. But they are apparently so nice that they insisted on paying $3.
My Neighbor: "I pay 2 bucks a dozen for eggs that have been at the store for a month, here's three and bring me a dozen every week." That was awesome (plus I always give the first dozen free so they get hooked.)
