Bleh re: fertilizer.

For peat moss, just look for 100% peat moss and you're good. I get the big bags from the big box stores since they're $10-12, compared to a small bag which is like 1/4 of the volume but goes for around $7-8.

I looked up both products and the first has: Canadian sphagnum peat moss, coarse perlite, natural organic slow release fertilizer, dolomitic and calcitic limestones. Second says: Enriched with Miracle-Gro plant food

You want to try and find bags that say 100% peat moss if you go this route.

hmm i’m having trouble finding 100% peat moss. People on here say that play sand works. would this be good?

I haven't tried sand myself but as long as it's strictly sand, it should be ok, maybe mixed with a couple scoops of dirt from the yard.
