I used to use an aluminum roasting pan for my jumbo browns' dusting pan. It was so funny seeing how much they just LOOOOVED being in that roasting pan

Ashes from the wood stove, really? It won't make them sick? Hmm... That is exciting, I have a ton of ashes from my stove.

I thought I would throw my "2 cents" in here and show a pic of some dust bathers. They especially love slightly damp dirt that I bring into the aviaries the day after a rain.

Now they're going to need a real bath! LOL!

Boy, they sure do enjoy the bath don't they!
I tried getting pics of mine the other day, but they were flinging sand so fast all the pics were a blur. lol...

Yeah, they go into some sort of "bathing zone", sort of space out when they bathe...isn't it funny?

The first time I saw my quail bathe in dirt, I was worried they would come out looking horrible! However after they groom themselves up, their feathers look gorgeous! Like velvet and bright looking. Amazing what dirt will do for them!

Good idea Critter....maybe I could charge admission to my quail aviary for folks who need some mud masks! I could hose the area down good, let the quail show the people how to roll around in the mud and I can make good money!!
