Dust bath??

I added a shallow tray full of play sand in the coop today so they could dust bath. They all just stand in it and peck at it. Do I need to worry they might get to much grit??

They won't get to much grit. You didn't ask but my hens have lots of options and never dust in sand.

Should I give them something els? It's only there second day in the coop. They will have access to there pen in a couple days

I wouldn't worry about it. If they are going to have access to a run in just a few days they'll be fine with what they have until then.
