We use half sifted wood ash and half peat moss with a bit of sand added. The plastic kid's pool gets turned over and raked flat about every other day. The girls also use sunny parts of the run on occasion as well.

oh great... now i need a bigger run so i can have a cute set up like yours lol.. love the chair idea.. i can sit with them for hours just as chicks, i can only imagine when they get biggger.

Sitting with the girls is definitely a good experience. In the afternoons we have "worm 'o clock" where we sit at opposite ends of the run and feed the kids some live meal worms that we raise. Always at least 2 girls on our laps with others milling around to get their share. Afterwards the lucky girls of the day get cuddles. Sort of sick but, what to do?
