I just brought home my new babies yesterday. They are adorable and I am loving them. However, I am a bit nervous. This is new for our family and I want to make sure I am doing everything I can for them to be happy. I have some questions about whether they need a dish or something with some sort of dirt or sand for dirt baths? If so, is it something particular I buy somewhere? Our ground here is a hard clay and I'm not sure if that should be used? Also, others have commented about their chicks doing this in the pine shavings of their brooders but our far store recommended pellets. Should I switch to shavings for the flooring?

I give mine some dirt once they are about a week or 2 old. They seem to love it. I just get some from outside. I'm not sure what you could but for them, maybe top soil from somewhere?
