I have some old desiccated peat moss, should I rehydrate it some first? We were actually going to burn some wood in our little rocket stove today for ashes. Good to see a simple recipe. Our week old chicks are already dust bathing on their puppy pad. Super cute to see that and the scratching they do.Peet moss and local dirt.
Skip the ashes, DE and sand.

I would, they'll love it! And they'll build up their immunity tooHello all!! My littles are a week old now and are starting to "dust" bathe in their aspen shavings. Should I get a little bit of dirt from where their run will be so they can get acclimated to the soil? They are on medicated feed, but have access to Corid, just in case.
Thank you(in advance).
Thank you @FrostRanger! I'll give it a go!! Next worry is how many roos I ended up with.I would, they'll love it! And they'll build up their immunity too
