I really appreciate this thoughtful response, thank you! that is so reassuring. yes I’ve got all organic gardens here and an untreated lawn, and pretty good at being mindful of the wild stuff they shouldn’t have (milkweed, poke, etc).There fine as long as it is all organic and doesn't have any pesticides (which I'm sure it doesn't).
Some plants are toxic to chickens if they eat it, but it looks like you've just got mostly grass clippings (?)
All healthy soil is essentially compost.
My organic farmer SIL lets the chickens follow the cattle. They are constantly digging in the cow pies. He swears he hasn't had an issue with coccidiosis since he's allowed the chickens to do that.
Good dirt is healthy dirt. Chickens LOVE good dirt. It's good for them.
