I planted flowers and did some weeding yesterday. Everywhere I disturbed the ground my chickens had to dust. They have a small swimming pool in their yard with peat moss, sand and garden soil but they like my raised beds that have the exact same thing in them but I'm trying to raise plants. Maybe I need to plant their dusting area to get relief.

My Bhrama hen followed me around when I was hoeing to pick up anything that looked interesting. When I disturbed an ant hill, she couldn't eat fast enough. lol.

Welcome to BYC! Unfortunately the only way to keep chickens out is to fence the area off. They will ruin your garden lol.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! What liz9910 said X2, contrary birds that they are, they will dust / dig anywhere there is disturbed earth, and they seem to find anyplace you don't want them to be much more attractive than any dust baths you make up for them. At least they are good at eating bugs!
