Hi, Dawn here. I'm outside of Nashville in Leipers Fork, a borough of Franklin, TN. We got our first chickens about 1 year ago. Currently we have:
Mimi's Extraordinary Coop: 20 hens (variety) and 1 Rooster (Rhode Island Red, "Buddy")
The Old Boys Club: 2 rough roosters - olive egger, Ole' Blu and Black Australorp, Elvis.
The Love Shack: 1 olive egger rooster (Rex) and 5 olive egger hens (Apple, Olive, Matilda, Midge, and Pepper)
4th coop - unnamed has 48 chicks - some I hatched in an incubator, some I bought from a hatchery, and some I got at tsc. Not sure yet, of this breakdown of hens/roosters. Could be as many as 17 roosters???
5th coop - the soon to be evident roosters will house here.
and, I've got 12 in a brooder, born on Easter!

That makes 86! I've got room for 100+ though, so this is fun!

I do not understand how to use the template so...

We live on a farm with 2 mini highland cows, all the chickens, a dog, 5 barn cats, a high school senior, and a pot belly pig named Johnny Cash.

I love watching them hatch, grow, come running to me...it's all so funny! Someone might say they are spoiled? I don't know... is art on the coop walls and chandelier lighting and treats galore spoiling??? hahaha

I am looking for 2 more coop names that are not typical. Ideas? Also, I've got a lot of eggs that need to find homes and I could spare some chicks too. Anyone need friends?

:welcome

Hi Dawn, I enjoyed your intro! Sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy but if you ever have time to share a few pictures, it would be fun to see some of your birds and/or coops. Thanks for joining us!

Hiya, Dawn, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Love your intro and we're sure glad you're here!

I struggle with naming animals, much less buildings. Try here:

Peaceful Peck Pavilion was one of them I liked.
