Dyed chicks

Just boil some beets and stick your finger in the water & touch the top of thr chicks head if you need to mark it. Safe instead of using sharpie if you had to mark a chick for any reason.

Not really a great idea. Red dots draw pecking ... and you'll either have a lot bald chicks or a lot of dead ones. Any color of food safe dye (other than red or pink) would work.

I had a red dot and blue dot that marked my chicks last year, and no one pecked anyone else. So it must be an individual bird thing. I had one who pecked a black spot on the brooder. Drew a few red dots on the wall to add to the pattern. She only liked the black dot.
