Dyeing brown eggs for Easter?

Thanks for all of the reply's I have been off of the puter due to no power for 2 and 1/2 days. Major power outages here in NY. But wow I am impressed at how the browns dyed. I do have the paas kit with vinegar and can't wait to do it. I will post some pics to this post when we dye them.

I wanted to keep my pritty pink tinted eggs the normal color but I'm sure the boys would be upset finding just pink eggs;)I'm using my bantom's eggs because we don't have any large chickens we are now up to 8 eggs saved:) hopefully we see atleast another 24 eggs out of my 3 hens, more then enough to dye, might go to the market for some nice big one if we don't. I can't wait until next easter when we have 10 girls laying:)

How did they come out?

I thought they turned out nicely. The picture I posted shows three of them. I don't know why I don't have a picture of the other colors. The red and purple turned out really nice too. The food coloring box has directions for egg dyeing and mixing different colors.

Has anyone tried dying eggs that have not been boiled? A few children come to collect eggs from me and I thought it would be nice for them to get coloured ones for Easter, the only problem is their mothers want eggs to cook with at home, so pre-cooked eggs would not work. Does anyone know if the color seeps through the egg into the albumin?

These are mine. yes the color will seep through even when the eggs are boiled! lol
