All my pasty butt cases cleared up within a day, or two.

What temperature do you have in the brooder? Pasty butt is often related to higher temperatures, while higher temperature also make the chicks dizzy and sleepy, so they will not drink enough.
 
If poop is stuck to their butts they may have "pasty butt" which you can google. Don't wash the whole chick, just warm damp water very gently with a cotton ball - be careful as removing the poop can cause injury, but leaving it stuck over the anus causes death. Gentle is the key.

Also, check the temp of your pen or brooder to be sure they're not too hot or cold. If they are too warm, they will try to move away from the heat and splay their wings out to try and cool off. If they are huddled up together right by the heat,they are cold.
