I have an elderly chicken that is dying, she is very lethargic and closes her eyes frequently, she has eaten and is drinking, she is pooping normally and last evening I isolated her from her flockmates and returned her to the coop this morning as she seemed quite bright in herself, she has been with the other chickens all day but I don't know whether to isolate her again for the night or leave her in the coop...I would appreciate thoughts from anyone here as to what would be best for her right now.

How old is the hen?

Well, if she is dying of old age, she will die in peace. All that you could do, is make her comfortable. You could also check out this thread:

Best to you and your flock!
Thank you for attaching the article about hens passing away due to old age, my hen will be coming back home with me this evening so she will be warm and have the option to eat and drink if she wants. I have 2 roosters in the coop and I don't want either of them to be bothersome to her. Thank you for responding!
