Dying chickens/Rooster

HELP! The past few months my hens have been dying off. One minute they r fine thn they start limping,then one morning I go out & shes dead.So we cleaned EVERYTHING LOTS! AGAIN. no more losses until last night. My hubby found my fav boy, Earle laying in his dust hole dead. )0: I am so sad! Plus I am away so I couldn't even see him. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm scared to introduce my new babies to the coop next week.

I am sorry about your chickens and roo all I can think of is adding some apple cider vinegar to the rest of the flocks water supply. Try adding 5mL of vinegar to 1L of water. This will help support their digestive and immune system. I hope this helps and the rest of your flock is ok

So the only symptom you see before death is limping? Hmm, I'd say start with bumble foot then. Take a look at your surviving birds' feet and see if you see anything that matches the description of bumble foot, if not then we'll go from there. Best of luck!

Need LOTS more infomation! How old are the birds you now have?

I would say: DO NOT bring anymore peeps in until you remedy this situation FIRST!.

Because of the severity of what you have said so far, I am leaning towards a communicable disease like Mareks, cocci....but do not know how old your peeps are????

Ok well the "older girls" are 21/2 yrs old, have been vaccinated as babies before they came from the hatchery but not fed medicated feed. The Roo is/was a Brahma same hatchery & only about 11/2.yrs old. same feed.My waterer was dirty so bleached the crap outta that & hadn't had any lossed for about 2-3 mos. till Earle.My hubby said no signs of illness at all. Just laying in his dust bath hole in broad sunlight,probably all day cause we weren't home to shoo him into the shade & he's kinda silly. Nice way of saying dumb.(0:maybe he died from the heat? I was reading on BYC that has been happening..Someone else suggested the apple cider so I am going to try that when I get home. If any more ideas please write. Thanx so much. What a nice feeling to have the BYC community when we need them eh.

Oh & the new peeps have been vaccinated for both mareks & cocci & I read the symptoms & it doesn't really seem like that.

How many hens died w/ obvious limping? And no one saw Earle limping, right? I'm wondering if there is some diverse causes of death and that's why there aren't any of the "telltale" symptoms.
