Dying chickens

Your hunch was right! They were not vaccinated, and the necropsy showed Marek's.
Ok. So, For sick birds treat them with 425mg Baicalin (Chinese Skullcap), 3 times a day for 7-10 days and then 1 daily until you feel safe releasing them back into the flock.

If you have some birds just showing signs, 425mg once daily for 3 days.

The vaccine does offer a layer of protection by suppressing symptoms but it also prevents early diagnosis.

Baicalin (Chinese Skullcap) can be used as a prophylactic by adding 1 mg per lb of feed. That translates to a Tbsp in a 50lbs bag.

It doesn't kill the virus, it renders it dormant, hopefully allows you birds to develop a resistance.

All chickens carry the Marek's virus. They don't all develop the disease.

It's not a cure and I'm still knee deep in research, but it beats the alternative.

Finding out that in all likelihood, ALL backyard flocks are infected was a bit of a downer. I wasn't pleased to find out the vaccine isn't the savior it's claiming to be, just plain miffed me off. But Finding viable clinical studies, research and academic studies showing Baicalin is a viable weapon has been the fruit I needed.

I've had birds dropping dead for over a year. ....'but they're vaccinated'... That's the last time I rely on that.
