I guess we are fairly close Im in Apopka .Its north of Orlando . I have some turkeys and the Toms don't dust themselves. I saw lots of big red looking bugs On the toms so I got dust and dusted them. I used it all up and will have to go to the feed store to see what it was.I had a mite infestation this year. I have never had mites before. They are almost microscopic but I could see the little specks. I have been spraying the coops and nest boxes weekly with permethrin spray. I make sure I spray everything in the coops even the walls. We have had a lot of rain, above normal, and it's been hot here. I suspect that the wild birds may have brought them from my research.
I have 3 very large coops all with large runs. I have 75 adult chickens and turkeys. 50 chicken pullets 15 turkey pullets and close to 75 baby quail. and one tired grandpa.
