Ive lost two hens, both within a year old. Fresh water daily, fresh produce every couple days, a huge outdoor run available to them, layer feed, grit and oyster shells at their choice. One was a RIR and the other a barred. Believe their combs may be a bit pale.

Thoughts?

Pale combs could be anemia, but if you could give more info it would help. Anything about their behavior, any symptoms leading up to it.

Had they been wormed? Were they lethargic or clumsy? How did their feathers look?

im very new to chickens, this is our first flock of layers. i dont think they have been wormed but ive recently learned that adding garlic to their feed could help with worms. we have been adding garlic here and there. as far as i know the flock seemed healthy, she seemed to be moving a bit slower then the rest and just kind of moping around. i did hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
