Hi all. I have a showgirl hen who is about a year old. She started laying soft eggs about 4 weeks ago and then stopped laying altogether (I think) about a week ago. This morning I noticed a change in her poop (loose diarrhea with some yellow leakage) and she seems to have lost weight. She is on feather fixer feed and has oyster shell and grit available. My first thought was coccidiosis, but it's the yellow leakage and weight loss that's really bothering me. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thank you.

She may be having a hard time expelling an egg or lash material.

I'd give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 now, then once daily for a week.

Do try to encourage her to keep hydrated and eat. Any lice/mites? Crop emptying?
I checked her over for mites or lice. We're okay there. Her crop felt empty last night. I'll try the Calcium Citrate+D3. Some one in this forum said the bird will swallow it if I can get it in her mouth (beak?). Do you have another suggestion for administering it? Should I dissolve it and administer through a syringe? Thank you!
