E-Collar training questions *****UPDATE ITS HERE*****

Feed stores generally have sport dog brand along with a few others. Especially if you have a lot of hunters in your area. Some pet stores have them as well but since they are so controversial some don't sell them or will try to talk you out of them.

I have 3 problematic dogs with anxiety issues , 2 are labs with high prey drive that absolutely love to chase the 4 dozen feral cats that frequent our yard , When i first rescued these dogs - i was at my wits end with getting them to stay in the yard while allowing them run time and keeping them out of things like gardens, the chicken coop and the shed.
But we put in a UG fencing system and within a week they were all trained and staying in their area, now a few years later - they have gotten so trained to that area that even when the batteries to their collars are dead - they still will not leave , even if theres a cat or a chicken - they wont chase it put of their area.
I absolutely recommend the system for everyone, but biggest thing is - the training.
you have to put the time and effort into letting the dog know where he is allowed and how to reconize the boundries.
a dog should never actually have to get shocked ore then once , the whole point of it is to be a training aid to let them know where its safe to roam, keeping that in mind - and putting the time in to walk them around the area - and pulling them back away from the beep when needed. most dogs will catch on quickly while others will take a while longer to get the hint, but a dog trained to the system is much safer in my opinion.
