An eagle killed one of our drakes yesterday. Never let anyone tell you they won't mess with domestic poultry - they messed with him, something awful. In a matter of a few brief minutes he was in pieces, but the eagle couldn't carry him off.
We saw the eagle land, and in the time it took us to run out of the house it was done.
Luckily, hubby was looking out the window when it happened or it would have been a lot worse. (Two other drakes were out as well). I had just come in the house to get more feed, and had started back out when hubby said there's an eagle out there. We ran, but not fast enough.
