I have a cockerel who has ear feathers matted with some kind of discharge, from what I can see it doesn’t look too bad, some brown gunk around the ear hole but no viable swelling or complete blockage, he otherwise acts normal but he’s kinda a goofy bird so hard to tell
Advice for treatment? If he needs it

You can use a couple of drops of hydrogen peroxide in the ear canal. Clean it out well with Qtips, and then put a little plain triple antibiotic/neosporin ointment into the ear. Ear mites, viruses, mites and bacteria can cause ear infections.

Some people use coconut oil in the ear to smother ear mites. If it doesn’t clear up, your vet might prescribe antibiotics.

I realised yesterday that he has mites, so I will be treating my flock today, though I didn’t see any mites in his ears
Thanks I will do that
