Today we noticed that one of our pullets has a clogged up ear. She is not showing any other symptoms, just her one ear filled with that gunk. It doesn’t really look swollen either. So, what should I do? I was planning on putting some plain Neosporin on it, but is there anything else I can do?

Please see post #7 in this link on how to treat her ear:

Alright, I got her ear mostly cleaned out. I pulled back the feathers that were in front of her ear, and most of the stuff came out on them, and a lot of it was sticking out too, so I didn’t have to go inside of her ear to get the gunk out. There didn’t seem to be anything in deeper. The gunky stuff was a white-ish color. I then put Neosporin on it. We’ll keep a close eye on it, and I’ll update if there are any more problems. Thanks for the help!

Blessings to you and ur chickens!! This was my 7 month old splash maran right when the ear infection started…after 2 rounds of antibiotics and going to a second vet, yes SECOND vet, ( and having this infection for 2 months) this is her now. I had to do something cause it was effecting the way she was walking.

Glad you were able to see a vet.
Did they run a culture on the infection to find the cause?
What antibiotic did they give her?

Hoping she makes a full recovery.
